Getting your bus driver's license

Class D95 bus driving licence

It is necessary to have passed the D95 basic qualification test to become a driver and to have continuous proof of qualification in accordance with Code 95 before you can drive a bus and transport people.

Pre-requisites*

  • Minimum age: 21 years with D95, from 23.5 years without D95
  • Psychological traffic examination
  • 16-hour first aid course
  • 17 theory units (50 minutes each), after which theory exam

Practical units

  • 8 practical units (50 minutes each) if you hold a class B driving licence
  • 4 practical units (50 minutes each) if you hold a class C driving licence

Exams

  • Basic qualification test D95 is required to obtain a licence for the commercial transport of persons.
  • Ongoing further training and qualification certificates in accordance with Code 95

Have you already completed your class D driving licence?

If you have already acquired the class D licence for non-passenger transport but do not yet have a permit for commercial transport, all you need in this case is the basic qualification test D95 as well as ongoing training and qualification certificates in accordance with Code 95.
